Bio:
Russell previously worked as a CSI in Washington state. He comes to Las Vegas as the new Night Shift Supervisor, since Catherine Willows and Nick Stokes were demoted as a result of Internal Affairs removing Ray Langston from the team. He is married, with a daughter and a son, who is a student at West Las Vegas University. In "Seeing Red", new CSI Julie Finlay hands him an envelope with the name “Diebenkorn Russell” written on it. This implies that Diebenkorn stands for D.B. just like CBS announced.
In Season 12, Episode 7 called "Brain Doe" Russell has problems with his son, to do with his college basketball team. His son missed his curfew and then got suspended off the team for one game. At the end of the episode, Russell comes out from the good worker into his father stage. D.B. is a good dad, telling his son to do the right things
